The Plateau zone occurs in an area underlain by Upper Triassic Stuhini Group sedimentary rocks intruded by a Jurassic to Cretaceous dioritic stock.

A chip sample over 5 metres assayed 0.07 per cent copper and 1.0 gram per tonne gold (Figure 5, Assessment Report 22794).

Work History

In 1964, Conwest Exploration Co Ltd conducted a program of silt/soil sampling and ground magnetometer survey.

In 1965, Conwest conducted 219 kilometres of Induced Potential (IP) and 1.83 kilometres of ground magnetometer surveying.

In 1969, Conwest Exploration Co conducted a program of silt and soil sampling, geological mapping and a ground magnetometer surveying.

In 1970 Amoco, (optioned From Conwest) drilled 1938.2 metres in nine BQ drill holes.

In 1970, Silver Standard Mines Ltd staked the A1 claims immediately west of the Q.C.

In 1976, Texas Gulf Canada Ltd (optioned from Conwest) conducted geological mapping and sampling.

In 1988, Teck Corporation staked Q.C. 1 to 15 claims to cover gold-copper anomalies from government regional stream silt geochemical survey. Silt/soil sampling and trenching, led to the discovery of the Top, Main, Gordon's and Upper Gordon showings.

In 1990, Triumph Resources Ltd (on an option from Teck and Silver Standard) conducted a progam of silt, contour soil and rock geochemical surveying over the Q.C. Porphyry zone and resampled the Vein showings.

In 1990, Dryden Resource Corporation (on an option from Teck, Silver Standard and Triumph) conducted a program of silt, soil, and rock geochemical sampling and drilled 377.04 metres (2 holes) at the Porphyry zone.

In 1991, Dryden further tested the potential of the QC Porphyry zone, the QC Vein zone and areas previously untested away from the known mineralization. Work done on the property included a total of five diamond drill holes. A three hole fence was drilled to test an IP chargability anomaly in the area of anomalous gold and copper soil geochemistry at the Porphyry zone.

The objective of the 1992 work program of Dryden was to further evaluate the known vein gold-silver-copper-zinc mineralization in the Vein zone area and prospect for further such occurrences. No work was done on the QC porphyry zone.
